§ 2-222. Membership, terms and qualifications.
The Commission shall be composed of 15 members. Members of the Commission on the Status of Women shall be permanent residents of the county. Each member shall serve a three-year term. A member may be reappointed but no member shall serve on the Commission for more than eight consecutive years.
(1)
Each County Commissioner shall appoint one member of the Commission.
(2)
The Board of County Commissioners shall adopt by resolution, a list of organizations whose Board of Directors shall each provide a nomination to the Board of County Commissioners to serve on the Commission on the Status of Women.
(3)
The Commission shall be balanced and broadly representative of the diversity of the County.
(4)
Members of the Commission shall serve without compensation.
(5)
Members of the Commission may be removed by the Board of County Commissioners without cause at any time. Members who fail to attend three consecutive regularly scheduled meetings of the Commission without prior approval of the Chairman shall be removed from the Commission upon verification of the same by the Chairman to the Board of County Commissioners. Any vacancy arising from a Commissioner's termination shall be filled for the remainder of the terminated member's term in the same manner as the original appointment.

The Commission on the Status of Women may submit a request to the Board of County Commissioners to consider the addition or deletion of an organization identified in paragraph (2) herein, to be included as a nominating organization of the Commission.
